Community vulnerability to global climate change is increasing at a rapid pace. With a rising awareness of the impact that businesses have on our planet, we are seeing a boom in entrepreneurial activity premised on social responsibility, sustainability practices, energy efficiency, and human health.
These ventures may provide solutions to some of our most urgent problems, yet often face a significant barrier to securing startup funding—protecting human health and the environment while maintaining profitability carries a financial risk many investors avoid taking.
The Center’s Sustainable Technologies and Health program trains investors, government officials, and academics to create frameworks that help entrepreneurs gain access to funding to launch their innovative, sustainable business ideas.
